Potato Masala Curry

Potato  masala curry is a tasteful and matched dish that can be served with Chapattis, Dosa or even can be taken with rice.  But it more shows out when taken with Chapatti or Puri.  It’s easy and simple Potato curry prepared without using coconut.  It’s more tasteful when prepared without pouring water.

Ingredients used :

Potato 
Onion  
Tomato (2,3 no’s)
Green Chilies (2-3 no’s)
Garlic  (6 no’s)
Curry leaves ( little)
Mustard (1 – 1 ½ Spoon)


Turmeric powder  (3/4 spoon)
Chilly powder (1 ½ spoon)
Corriander powder (1 ½ spoon)
Garam masala (3/4 spoon)
Chicken or meat masala (3/4 spoon)
Salt powder  (1 ½ tsp and add more after tasting) 

Potato and Onion  you can take according to your sufficiency.  First boil 3-4 potatoes in a vessel.  Remove it from the flame after it’s cooked.  Then remove the potatoes from the vessel and place it in a plate to make it cool.  After cooling, remove the outside layers and cut it into very small pieces with a knife and then cut onions into thin slices, remove garlic layers and crush it
Place a dry pan on flame.  Pour some coconut oil (use according to the vegetable quantity).  When the oil is heated put some mustard (1 – 1 ½ spoons).  Let it sprinkle.  Then put some curry leaves (very little leaves).  Add the crushed garlic into the oil and stir it till a smell appears.  Put the onion stir it well with shovel till it turns into slight color change.  Add salt powder. Put turmeric powder stir it till the smell disappears.  Put Chilly powder, coriander powder and salt to taste.  Mix and stir it well.  Put tomatoes stir it well and then put the potatoes, put 1-2 tsp of  garam masala stir it and finally for more taste add 1 -2 tsp of meat or chicken masala (Optional).   Taste it, salt can be added according to taste.   


Best tasted, if served with chapatti, puri, Dosa and even with rice as side dish.
